Project: NFL House Superbowl LVII
Agency: Cognition

Project Overview
Cognition created a video booth platform that allows guests to enter the party in style. Our video platform system captured guests as they were revealed by automated elevator doors creating a unique video takeaway.

Guest Experience

Cognition was tasked with creating a video capture system that can record guests using a robotic camera and trigger an elevator door to create a unique video takeaway. The system was to be built for multiple events where the video output could be easily customized by brand directors. Additionally, the solution was to provide a simple download experience for guests and tools for brand ambassadors to assist guests with session retrieval.

Application Development

Cognition built a video capture system consisting of custom touchscreen applications, a robotic camera and micro controllers to create a dynamic recording of each guest entering the party. Guests would be guided to the starting point behind automated doors. When ready, the application would display a countdown and then trigger the doors to open. The robotic camera would begin recording capturing the group making their entrances into the party space. Guests could see a preview of their entrance and a QR code to retrieve their final video once it was published.

The raw video is then uploaded to a cloud video processing system. Based on customizations set by the brand team, the video would be processed with event messaging, overlays and brand logos. The processing service would also check if the guest had submitted a phone number and send a notification that their video was ready to be viewed on the event microsite.

The cloud based admin portal allowed brand ambassadors to view real time metrics from the event and the ability to adjust camera animations, application settings and video branding elements.

Outcome
On the first deployment the system captured and processed over 400 videos. As guests understood how the system worked, they began to use the door and moving camera to create very creative videos.
